What is Stoke on Trent Model Club?
We are an informal group of modellers from Stoke and its surrounding area, who support and encourage our members in the hobby of building and painting scale models and kits. Whether it be plastic tanks and aeroplanes from manufacturers like Airfix or Tamiya, through to hand-sculpted figurines made from clay, putty and magic - there is a home here for anyone who enjoys the building and/or painting of scale models.
Our club is based in Stoke-On-Trent in Staffordshire, UK, but we travel around the country to various model shows throughout the year - details of which can be found on our calendar. We also host our own Stoke-On-Trent Model Show, which is growing to be one of the largest single-day model shows in the country.
We are a friendly and welcoming group, who offer a safe space for modellers to enjoy their hobby and make some new friends!
What do we do on Club Nights?
Club nights are held at the Salvation Army Hall on Heathcote Road, on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm-8.30pm, or until everyone has packed up to get home for the football or their tea. It's a very informal, relaxed environment where we sit and work on our models, or chat amongst ourselves. Models are built, models are painted, biscuits are consumed.
What is the carpet monster, and is it real?
The carpet monster is responsible for all the bits of model that disappear when you accidentally drop them on the floor when working on a model. The monster takes every opportunity to devour these pieces and they are never seen again. It is 100% real, and must be avoided at all costs.
